Santa came to town!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did!!!! Thank you everyone for all the wonderful gifts, quality time spent together, and memories created. My children have truly been spoiled! We couldn't have asked for a better Christmas. Here are a few of the bazillion pictures I've taken over the week.
Cole with his wild bed head hair and his favorite thing in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD, popsicles!

Mr. Independent wants to eat all by himself and use utensils for everything, as you can see. There's that hair again, I guess it's time for a baby haircut!
Skyping on Christmas eve with Uncle Ricky and Aunt Nena, we missed you guys!
 Let the projects begin!
Cookies and Milk for Santa and our last night with Music the Elf on the Shelf... see you next year Music.
They must have been good this year.
 How sweet is he!!!!
Courtney wanted Barbies this year and was very excited when Santa came through.
A BOMB went off in my living room, it took me days to find the floor again.
 Happy Boy!

Mimosa's for Mommy and Daddy (we were good this year too ;)
 Love this pic!

Courtney loving the Barbie Jet from Uncle Ricky and Aunt Nena!
Not sure what's going on here, but it's pretty funny!
Cole has a new found love for orange juice.
Loving my new train, thanks B!
I'm not sure who was having more fun playing Barbies.... Courtney or Aunt Sue???
 Courtney and her Melanie!
Santa forgot Rudolf!! I think I'll keep him!
 The family!
 The REAL family!

Cole wanted in on the talking to Uncle Matt action!
 Play time!
 A "Nana Kiss"
This is what happens when the adults are occupied with a game, these two thought they would help themselves to the desert table! BUSTED!

Christmas Countdown!

The stockings are hung, the presents are almost all bought, and the cookies are baked! Bring on Santa!!! Instead of bombarding you with a ton of pictures after Christmas here are a few form the past few weeks.
But first I want to share a poem that James' cousin Meredith Carl wrote, she just recently had her second baby and summed up nicely what it's like with two children! Love you Mere ( I think she was secretly spying on the Newton's for inspiration for this poem!

 The Nigtmare Before Christmas

'Twas 10 days before Christmas
And I was stuck here at home
With two children screaming
I needed to roam.

The children weren't nestled all snug in their beds
And Joey was jumping like a crazy sugar head

Papa off to work and Mama needing a drink
It was only 9am what can I do?.... think!

Then what to my wondering eyes should appear
But a parking spot close to the JCPenney entrance in the rear!

Being a driver so lively and quick
I pulled right in and went to see St. Nick

More rapid than eagles we got into the mall
And Joey was excited to see Santa and all
"Now Santa, and Disney Store and trains and toys,
Let's go mommy now!  I'm a good boy!"

So up to the food court Joey and I flew
Pushing the stroller with little Jakey too.

And then in a twinkling
I saw Joey's pee go
All over the seat
And all over his clothes

As I shook my head and was looking around,
My heart started pouding, I wanted to drown.

Joey was dressed so cute from head to toe
And now his clothes were all tarnished and wet - whoa!
A bundle of extra clothes I had in the diaper sack
And I looked like an idiot running to the toilet and back

Joey's eyes were so big, his dimples were missing
His momma was trying to clean up the pissing!

My little mouth was drawn up like a bow
And I could feel the gray hairs starting to grow

Jakey was chubby and plump
A cute Christmas elf
He started to scream
And I wanted to shoot myself

We went back to our table
And I cleared my head
The boys were happy now
I had nothing to dread.

Joey sprang on the train
And to his mom gave a wave
He went around and around
Being very brave

Jake sat with Santa
And Joey would barely go in his sight
This was the mall nightmare
Mom's drinking tonight.

Making snow flakes for Aunt Cassidy so she can have some snow in Texas!
Meet our newest family member "Music" is our "elf on the shelf"! It's wonderful, she watches the children all day long then each night flies to North Pole to report to Santa how they are behaving! So anytime they start fighting mama just say's "Music is watching" :)
Courtney and her Cousin Kyersten visiting with Santa!

"Hummm I'm not sure what to think about this guy"
 "DAD get me outta here"

 My lovely Family!
